I used to be fairly innocent
though no one seems to have noticed
and I always was attracted to all forbidden
I guess that comes from a religious upbringing
and I am slowly dying
from swallowing my screams
and shaking instead of throwing
objects across the room
I want to break
to splinter
the word 'shard' has always had
a certain appeal
and though I've never breathed in
the disease and inhaled poison
I find myself wanting to
wanting to give in
and let it all turn to
ashes and smoke
